Alberta University of the Arts is the only art, craft and design university in Alberta and the Prairies, and one of only four in Canada. Established in 1926, and formerly known as Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD), AUArts has 1,200 students annually and offers undergraduate (Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Design) and graduate (Master of Fine Art) degrees as well as continuing education and professional development.

There are currently 79 self-identified Indigenous students at AUArts, which is 7% of our entire student population. AUArts has the highest average of self declared Indigenous graduates amongst Calgary post secondary schools.
