Indigenous Support Line – Alberta – Primary Care Alberta
created: Jun 19, 2025

Salutations; “Oki” (Kainai), ‘Danit’ada’ (Tsuut’ina), ‘Tansi’ (Cree), ‘Michif’ (Metis), ‘Ullaakuut’ (Inuit) & “Aasiujusi” (Nunavut);
Greetings from the Indigenous Support Line (ISL)!
My name is Billie-Jo Onespot, Senior Practice Consultant with the team. I am reaching out to raise awareness of the line, and to build connections and relationships with people, programs and communities.
The ISL has been in operation since 2022 and is available to the North, South and Central zones; and as of June 2, have been open to Calgary and Edmonton zone. We serve First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples living on or off reserve, on a Settlement or in cities and towns.
ISL aims to improve Indigenous Patient/Family experiences and enhance access to the health care. Indigenous Listeners provide culturally safe patient and family-centered care, health information and connection to resources, systems navigation, and support with patient concerns. We believe that Indigenous patient experiences and outcomes will be enhanced as we work in partnership with health care providers to identify and address barriers to health care for our people and communities.
This Monday we will be presenting via 2025 National Indigenous Peoples Month | Together 4 Health if you would like to join via Zoom, or we can set up something privately with you and your team.
