We are excited to announce the unveiling of the new artwork created by our first artist in residence, Tamara Lee-Anne Cardinal, honouring the 8-pointed star which is central to our St. Mary’s logo and to many Indigenous traditions. Take part in our virtual panel, learn about the meanings and processes of creating the artwork, and join us for a virtual discussion with the artist and Elders.

TAMARA LEE-ANNE CARDINAL
Tamara is a mixed-media artist, community activist, and perpetual learner. Born and raised in Lloydminister, Saskatchewan, Tamara traces her ancestral roots back to both Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Treaty 6, and the once German occupied lands of the Ukraine. She has been a visitor to Otoskwanihk (Calgary) for 9 years. Tamara’s work speaks to her core interests in community, family history, and our human connection with Mother Earth.
