St. Mary's University presents AISINNA'KIIKS @ St. Mary's University

After a year away in various locations around Calgary, St. Mary’s University will welcome back to campus the Aisinna’kiiks art exhibit that helped to open the Mauro Gallery in the Historic Water Tower last June.

Originally inspired from sitting in circle with Elders and time spent with the land, Aisinna’kiiks was created to be a living exhibition, for viewers to hold in their hearts wherever they may be or the exhibit may travel. This mission saw the exhibition installed at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre in downtown Calgary.

The exhibition features eight talented, local artists from the Treaty 7 area who have utilized a range of mediums, from digital drawing to painting and photography, to share their stories.

Bruno Canadien, Soloman Chiniquay, Kalum Teke Dan, Michael Fatt, Kristy North Peigan, Keegan Starlight, Alberta Rose W., Smith Wright

We invite you to join us as we welcome Aisinna’kiiks back to St. Mary’s where it will once again be on display in the Mauro Art Gallery and celebrate this amazing exhibit and the transformational journey that has been undertaken over the past year.
