With over 25 years experience working within the education system – social services sector, as an advocate for First Nation Youth and Families, MacDonald White Bear is a bridge between cultures, confusion and healing. A student himself, of the traditional teachings, Walter was raised in a home shadowed by residential school trauma. His story brings understanding to those working with and trying to understand the challenges and history of today’s First Peoples in Canada.

Workshops are held in safe spaces where everyone is free to explore questions, stories, legends, myth and misunderstandings using traditional indigenous music, singing, lore and symbolism.

Participants gain an introductory knowledge of native spirituality and how it effects the journey of the
culture, governance and place in the Canadian mosaic.

For more information you can find and inquire on White Bear Services website at,

Walter uses his gifts as a sweat lodge holders and pipe carrier to convey messages about the power of choice, compassion for all world views and the “special gift “ that all human beings were born with.

The workshop can be customized from a one-hour presentation, to a full day activity that includes a variety of personal growth exercises to sharing circles.  Highlighting the effect of lateral violence and internalized oppression and how colonization has had a powerful impact with sharing the traditional Aboriginal worldview, the workshops immediately create an understanding for the
situation Canada is now facing.

From Moosefactory, James Bay; he identifies as Cree using cultural teachings acquired from a variety
brothers and sisters of Cree, Blackfoot, Ojibwa, Odawa, Saulteaux and Métis’ Nations ancestry.
