DESCRIPTION

The day has been planned to come together as a community “One Heart, One Mind, One Spirit” to have a conversation about what we want to see happening in Calgary in the next 2 to 5 years. How we can come together for community change by connecting people that care about the same thing, to work together to see action take place, and to steward resources. We acknowledge from talking with Elders that the journey to reconciling starts with each of us as individuals, by connecting with ourselves, our families, our land and resources to have the most community impact, and this will be the start to hopefully a stronger urban Indigenous community within Calgary.

Organizer of Grassroots Gathering V…Moving Forward as One Nation

Continuing the work that was completed by the Calgary Urban Aboriginal Initiative (CUAI) domain groups, Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) in partnership with the Indigenous Service Canada, actively supports key partners and stakeholders to come together on a regular basis for information sharing, partnership building and providing supports for Indigenous programs and agencies serving the urban Indigenous population of Calgary. Collaborative Community Engagement & Partnerships is focussed on reducing barriers and increasing Indigenous participation within the community.
