Indigenous Program Liaison

The Sahwoo Mohkaak Tsi Ma Taas: Before Being Judged program is designed to increase and enhance access to justice and healing for Indigenous peoples, living in or around Calgary.  The Liaison works closely with CLG staff, lawyers, Articling & summer students, Elders & Traditional Knowledge Keepers, partner agencies/services in the community, and a multi-disciplinary Indigenous Advisory Council to conduct outreach to Urban Indigenous people and others, who are having difficulty with legal/justice related issues, to help facilitate connections to lawyers and legal services, community services, ceremony, and opportunities for healing.

This is a permanent full-time position reporting directly to the Director of Impact and working daily with members of the Senior Leadership and Operations Team, and often with the CLG Board of Directors.

Domestic Violence Family Law Program Coordinator/Legal Assistant

This is a permanent full-time position, reporting to the Senior DVFLP Lawyer.  The DVFL Program Coordinator/Legal Assistant works with a team of two lawyers and one social worker to deliver legal services and support to individuals who may have difficulty accessing the justice system due to poverty, capacity issues, mental health or general health issues, trauma, and other systemic barriers. This position acts as a coordinator for the program as well as an assistant to the lawyers and social worker providing services.
