Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary (BGCC) is a charitable organization serving 20,000 vulnerable children and youth in every quadrant of Calgary through a dedicated team of 300 employees in over 40 programs and services. Since 1939, our agency has been committed to transforming lives by providing safe places where kids can develop confidence, gain skills, and experience success so they can reach their best potential in life. We believe that every single kid counts.

The BGCC Indigenous Initiatives team works diligently to support and create learning opportunities that assist Indigenous youth to experience success. The Indigenous Initiatives Iiyika’kimaat program provides supports to Indigenous youth aged 12-21 years.

The Iiyika’kimaat program delivery is based on the Medicine Wheel concept and the Circle of Courage model to deliver a program based on a concept of a healing journey, with each activity intended to support and provide aspects of legacy education, resiliency, identity, self-esteem, life skills, coping skills, interaction and teachings.

Our program operates Monday – Thursday evenings, 4:00pm – 8:00pm, located at 731 13 Ave NE. Programming is free and open to youth who want to learn culture, traditions, have fun and build connections. Youth will enjoy a delicious meal each night along with plenty of snacks!
