In 2004, out of the six On-Reserve Shelters in Alberta, five of these shelters formed a committee that would meet on a Quarterly basis to discuss shelter issues. The committee consisted of the Directors and their Boards.
These shelters were: Bigstone, Ermineskin, Sucker Creek, Morley and Mikisew.
In 2009, Kainai opened it’s shelter and were invited to join the shelter committee.

Alberta First Nation’s Voice for On-Reserve Shelters Society (AFNVORSS)
Vision is that “First Nation’s families in Alberta are free from family violence”.
