Towards Truth and Reconciliation
At the last meeting of the North East Action Collaborative members identified a need to collectively advance the process of truth and reconciliation in NE Calgary. From this meeting. a small but mighty Cluster working Group (CWG) came together to narrow down the scope and identify where we can best play a role in reconciliation efforts. As one of the most culturally diverse areas of Calgary, we decided to walk in the spirit of Call to Action #93 which promotes education of newcomers to
Canada on the history of residential schools and Treaties in an effort to breakdown stereotypes and misinformation about the indigenous people of Canada. Within this framework, the CWG sees an exciting opportunity to bring together the people of NE Calgary for cultural exchange and celebration. But we can·t do it alone!

What is the North East Action Collaborative (NEAC)?
The NEAC is an independent, voluntary collaborative facilitated by a Core Team, but empowered by NEAC participants. Its purpose is to bring together representatives of social service agencies, government and faith groups who desire to collaborate on efforts to identify and address gaps in social services to the residents of NE Calgary. It is
designed to create collaboration. Participants are those who have capacity to contribute to current state and gap analysis discussions and are empowered to act by joining a Cluster Working Group (CWG). We are not an inter-agency networking group.
